Several people were arrested Thursday after a man reportedly opened fire on a pickup in northeast Oklahoma City.

About 5:30 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a reported shooting near NE 28 and Martin Luther King Boulevard. A witness reported having seen some of the people involved in the shooting go into a home in the 2000 block of NE 28, according to a police report.

Officers at the scene noticed spent shell casings in near three different houses before making contact with the home the reported shooters went into. Sherelle Latrice Murphy, 43, spoke with officers at the home, telling them there were only children inside, but allowed them to enter.

Inside the home, an officer noticed Christopher Harris, 32, on a bed in the front room and Marquis Shorter, 23, walking from the front bedroom closet. Another officer found Tanish Love II, 18, in a back room.

After Murphy gave consent for the house to be searched, officers found three 9 mm handguns and a .22-caliber rifle. One of the handguns and the rifle were found in the closet from which Shorter was walking away. Police said it had previously been reported stolen.

Another handgun was found under the mattress Harris was sitting on and the last handgun was found in the freezer alongside bullets and a magazine. Officers said some of the bullets they found appeared to be the same type as the shell casings found outside of the home.

An anonymous caller reported having seen several people shooting at a black pickup. The driver of the pickup later called and reported being shot at. Police later found the pickup, which had several bullet holes and other damage consistent with a shooting, according to the police report.

During an interview, Harris told officers he saw Love shooting in the direction of the pickup.

Murphy, who had a previously felony conviction for manslaughter, was arrested on complaints of concealing stolen property and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. Harris, who police said had multiple felony convictions, was arrested on the same complaints.

Love was arrested on complaints assault with a deadly weapon and concealing stolen property. Shorter was arrested on a complaint of concealing stolen property.
