Volesky leads Energy FC in 4-2 win over Rio Grande Valley FC Toros

EDINBURG, TEXAS — Christian Volesky scored two goals as Oklahoma City Energy FC defeated Rio Grande Valley FC Toros 4-2 on Saturday night.

With the victory, OKC (9-12-5) extended its winning streak to three games.

Volesky scored the match's first goal in the 34th minute.

Just two minutes later, OKC's Alex Dixon sent a shot past goalkeeper Nicolas Corti and Energy FC took a 2-0 lead.

The Toros (3-9-11) responded as Matias Zaldivar scored off a corner kick in first-half stoppage time to cut the lead to one.

In the 54th minute, Dixon found Volesky in the box with a cross from the right wing. Volesky got to the ball just ahead of the defender and kicked it past Corti for his second goal of the night.

Energy FC took a 4-1 lead in the 67th minute when Adam Jahn scored on a long ball from Richard Dixon.
