Lime scooters come to okc

The Oklahoman's David Dishman takes a look at Bird's competition in the red hot OKC scooter market. 

Scoot in close and listen up, there is a second “dockless” scooter rental company in town.

Lime-S scooters joined the ranks of rentable electric scooters alongside Bird Rides Inc. in Oklahoma City. Lime late Wednesday received permits for 17 sites throughout the city to place 85 scooters. These scooters were disbursed Thursday.

But the number of scooters is likely to grow as the 17 permits are only part of a larger application for 50 total locations submitted by Lime, and Bird also received approval to expand its fleet.

Unique OKC property could be revitalized 

The owner of the former Lincoln Plaza, once the city's power center but now blighted, is promising to start renovations by January after narrowly avoiding the property being added to the city's abandoned buildings registry.

The promise made this week to the city council specifically addresses the seven-story hotel tower, but questions remain over the adjoining office complex, which also is showing signs of vandalism and disrepair. The property is a couple of miles north of the state Capitol on Lincoln Boulevard.
