Naomi Campbell lands her first beauty campaign
Well, it’s about time.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell has landed her first beauty campaign, which is difficult to believe considering how long she’s been a queen on the runway and in photoshoots.
Now she’s partnered with NARS for its 2019 Radiance Repowered campaign.
“Naomi is a living icon and brings such strong personality to the camera,” Francois Nars said in a statement. “She and I are like family. I have known her since the very beginning of her career. From the start, I have admired her, her beauty and her style.”
Nars photographed Campbell, delivering a striking mix of color and black-and-white images.
Campbell has often shared her frustration and feeling of discrimination as a woman of color, even when it comes to beauty contracts.
In May 2017, she told the Evening Standard, “I've never done [a beauty campaign] for anyone. People say, ‘Oh you've got beautiful skin' and yet I've never done one.” The writer of the piece went on to note, “She gives me a look that says, ‘You know why.’ “
The new campaign debuts in January.
