Color trends for fall fashion
Never mind that spring’s not even here yet.
In the world of fashion, the focus is on what we’ll be wearing this fall.
New York Fashion Week, spotlighting fall fashion 2019, continues through Friday. Twice a year, Pantone Color Institute creates an overview of the top colors designers show during the week.
The report features the top 12 stand-out colors, as well as current takes on four classic neutrals in the new autumn/winter collections.
Colors are Chili Pepper, Biking Red, Crème de Peche, Pink Peach, Rocky Road, Fruit Dove, Sugar Almond, Dark Almond, Galaxy Blue, Bluestone, Orange Tiger and Eden. The classic neutrals are Vanilla Custard, Evening Blue, Paloma and Guacamole.
Pantone says the colors reflect an emergence of confidence. They’re bold and strong yet easy to relate to with some tweaks for the cold-weather season.
“Colors for autumn/winter 2019-2020 range from easy and sophisticated to strikingly different and unique,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “This palette of versatile hues builds a sense of empowerment and confidence, enabling the wearer to choose the colors that best reflect his or her mood and persona.”
