OKC shooting suspect in custody
Oklahoma City police have arrested a suspect in last week’s shooting of a 23-year-old.
Christopher Todd Cargle, 25, is in custody at the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of first-degree murder. A witness identified Cargle from a video posted on Facebook as the suspect who shot Eric Lamont Washington at an apartment at 7832 Lyrewood Lane, according to an arrest warrant.
The witness said two suspects knocked on the apartment door about 10:30 p.m. March 6 and asked for Washington by name, police reported. Washington identified himself, and one of the suspects shot him at the door, according to the arrest warrant.
Detectives interviewed Washington’s ex-girlfriend, who said he recently had an altercation with her new boyfriend.
Her boyfriend posted a Facebook video of himself and Cargle with a teal semi-automatic handgun the morning after the shooting, according to the warrant. He had previously told Washington’s sister the next time he saw Washington, “it would be a killing or something to that effect,” police said.
