COMMONWEALTH URBAN FARMS
Classes are from 11 a.m. to noon at CommonWealth Urban Farms, 3310 N. Olie. Tuition is $10 per person or $15 per couple, unless otherwise noted. Free admission for Saturday volunteers. Pay onsite at the beginning of the class.
For Beginners Only: Saturday. Learn the steps of choosing where to locate your garden, how to set up a container garden with Smart Pots, and what to plant first.

Everything You Need to Know About How to Start Growing Food: 6 to 8 p.m. April 18, Garden Classroom. Presentation by Dale Spoonemore, From Seed to Spoon. Cost is $8 for members, $12 for nonmembers. Register by April 12.
Tomato Titans: Growing Delicious Tomatoes: 10 a.m. to noon April 20, Garden Classroom. Learn how to start tomato seeds, transplant and care for seedlings, control insects and disease and properly water and fertilize. Participants are welcome to bring photos of their tomatoes for questions and advice. Cost is $14 for members, $19 for nonmembers. Register by April 16.
Beginning Gardening: 1 to 2:30 p.m. April 27, Garden Classroom. Learn bedrock essentials for choosing the right location, testing and sustaining soil health, and selecting the most suitable vegetable and flower varieties. Cost is $14 for members, $19 for nonmembers. Register by April 23.
