Man shot, killed by Chickasha police Wednesday
CHICKASHA — A 47-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday night by Chickasha police officers responding to a domestic violence situation.
About 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, police arrived at the home where Kevin Samuel Capers was reportedly threatening his girlfriend with a knife. Three officers at the scene said they were threatened by Capers, who reportedly refused to drop a knife he had, according to a news release.
Officers opened fire on Capers, mortally wounding him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chickasha police asked assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation in working the officer-involved shooting.
The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
