Cowgirls run-rule Longhorns in five innings
No. 21 Oklahoma State shut out No. 9 Texas for the second straight day as the Cowgirls beat the Longhorns, 8-0, on Saturday to clinch the Big 12 series.
Rylee Bayless and Samantha Show hit back to back homers for the Cowgirls (26-9, 4-1) in the five inning run-rule win.
Bayless was 3-for-3 at the plate, scored three runs and had three RBI. Show also was 3-for-3 with a double, scoring twice and knocking in two runs.
Samantha Clakley pitched the shutout, allowing just three hits and fanning three in improving to 6-3 on the season.
The teams conclude the three-game series with a 1 p.m. contest Sunday at Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater.
OU game postponed
Oklahoma's game at Utah was postponed Saturday due to inclement weather. The Utes and Sooners will play a doubleheader Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
