Eddie Sutton reportedly not going in Hall of Fame

Doug Gottlieb called it “really disappointing news,” and a “complete travesty,” and a hefty majority of the Oklahoma State basketball family likely feels the same. Former Oklahoma State coach Eddie Sutton won’t be going into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, according to reports on Tuesday afternoon.

Gottlieb, the former Cowboy point guard, first posted the news on Twitter, saying the Sutton family had been informed of the news Tuesday morning.

During his career, Sutton took four teams to the NCAA Tournament and reached the Final Four three times with two programs, including two trips with the Cowboys.

He remains the only college coach with 800 victories who is not in the Hall of Fame.
