Children's author Linda Harkey will host a story time event and sign copies of her new book, "The Remarkable Story of Willie the Crow: A Hickory Doc's Tale," from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. The story centers on five dogs who live at the Lazy Dog Hacienda in Oklahoma: "Doc, the oldest and wisest; Zeke, his annoying younger brother; Patch, Doc's daughter; Rush, Doc's son; and Newt, a black Lab who is part of the family," according to a news release. One day a black crow named Willie, who has poor eyesight, lands on Patch's head, beginning a friendship and an adventure. Harkey, who lives in New Mexico, is a former teacher and a hunting dog owner, as well the author of multiple children's books.
