Salvation Army offers disaster training
The Salvation Army will host Emergency Disaster Services training to give people an overview of the organization's mission and its role within disaster work.
Participants will learn how to prepare and equip themselves to help The Salvation Army serve the local community in times of crisis. This course is a prerequisite for additional disaster services training offered through The Salvation Army.
"Introduction to The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services" will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 18. The training location will be provided at the time of registration.
Additionally, a "Ministry of Presence: Emotional and Spiritual Care Training" workshop is planned from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 2.
This course is designed for new disaster workers who are interested in understanding the basic principles of responsible and appropriate emotional and spiritual care. The target audience is anyone who is interested in emotional and spiritual care and is not limited to clergy.
