OU basketball: Ty Lazenby commits to Oral Roberts
Former Oklahoma guard Ty Lazenby has committed to Oral Roberts.
The Glencoe native announced the news Monday night on Twitter.
"I want to thank my coaches and teammates at OU for giving me such a great experience the past two years," Lazenby wrote. "I want to especially thank my family and fiance for helping me through this process and always backing me through the ups and downs.
"With that being said I have decided to commit to Oral Roberts University to continue my education and basketball career."
Lazenby redshirted his senior season at OU. He will be immediately eligible to play at Oral Roberts next season as a graduate transfer.
He played one season for the Sooners, recording 15 points and 16 rebounds in 26 games as a junior.
The 6-foot-5 guard was a three-time Class A state champion at Glencoe High School. Lazenby, after not receiving a Division-I offer out of high school, spent two seasons at Northern Oklahoma College in Enid before transferring to OU.
