Photos and video: 'Southbound' Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher are the cutest couple on the ACM Awards
Checotah native Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher were adorable at Sunday night's 54th Academy of Country Music Awards, which aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
After turning out in elegant fashion with her husband, Underwood gave her first televised performance since giving birth to her second child in January on the show.
The superstar, who embarks on her “Cry Pretty Tour 360” next month, started her breezy party song “Southbound” poolside and then led a bevy of backup dancers through the arena all the way to the stage, stopping to share a smooch with her spouse on the way.
Underwood returned to the stage to back up Emmy-nominated “This Is Us” actress Chrissy Metz, who made her live singing debut on the emotional “I’m Standing with You” from the upcoming film “Breakthrough,” in which she stars. Underwood wasn’t the only country songstress backing up Metz: Maddie & Tae, Lauren Alaina and Mickey Guyton also lifted their voices with her.
As previously reported, Underwood will bring her 2019 tour to her home state for a Sept. 25 show at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena, 100 W Reno, and an Oct. 24 engagement at Tulsa’s BOK Center, 200 S Denver.
