Oklahoma Scene: OU's Basquine granted sixth year of eligibility
Oklahoma wide receiver Nick Basquine has won his NCAA appeal granting him a sixth year of eligibility, coach Lincoln Riley announced Tuesday night.
The former Norman North standout redshirted in 2014. He suffered a season-ending Achilles injury prior to the 2017 season, and the newly-granted year of eligibility will replace that lost season.
Basquine has 27 career receptions for 399 yards and two touchdowns.
OU schedules football home-and-home with Alabama for 2032-33
Oklahoma's aggressive football scheduling continued this week with the Sooners announcing a home-and-home series with Alabama for 2032-33.
OU will host the Crimson Tide on Sept. 11, 2032 before traveling to Tuscaloosa on Sept. 10, 2033.
The announcement came just a few weeks after the Sooners announced a similar series with Clemson in 2035-36.

USA Softball is scheduled to hold its first-ever Gold Ball Gala at the Cox Convention Center on May 29.
The event will serve as a fundraiser for the USA Softball National Team Program. Tickets are on sale at GoldBallGala.com.
Former UCLA coach Sue Enquist will make an appearance as the keynote speaker.
Several current USA Softball players, including former Oklahoma star Keilani Ricketts, will also attend.
Energy FC signs defender Alvin Jones
Oklahoma City Energy FC announced the signing of defender Alvin Jones on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old Jones had played for W Connection FC in his native Trinidad and Tobago since 2012.
OSU women's soccer releases 2019 schedule
Oklahoma State announced its 2019 women's soccer schedule on Tuesday.
OSU will begin the regular season Aug. 22 at Lamar in Beaumont, Texas.
The Cowgirls' first home game will be against Oral Roberts on Sept. 1.
OU baseball defeats Texas Southern
Brylie Ware, Blake Brewster, Conor McKenna and Brady Harlan each drove in two runs, and the Oklahoma baseball team beat Texas Southern 10-2 Tuesday night in Norman.
Ben Abram tossed six innings of one-run ball. The right-hander improved to 6-0 on the year.
