OSU’s Remember the Ten Run set Saturday
The 13th annual Remember the Ten Run, honoring the 10 members of the Oklahoma State basketball program killed in a 2001 plane crash, will be held Saturday in Stillwater.
The run will begin at 9 a.m. before the OSU football team’s spring finale at 1 p.m. The day concludes with the Cowboys hosting Texas in baseball at 3 p.m.
Runners can register for any of the races — the 5k, 10k and Fun Run — at www.remembertheten.com, or on site between 7-9 a.m. Saturday.
All races will begin to the south of the intersection of Duck and Mathews streets.
The Remember the Ten Run is the USATF state championship for 5k and 10k men’s and women’s races. Runners must be current USATF members to be eligible and must provide information upon registration.
Texas leads big 12 Women’s Golf Championship
Oklahoma State is third and Oklahoma is fifth after Monday’s second round of the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship at the Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow.
Texas leads the event with a 36-hole total of 584, eight-over-par, and holds a 22-stroke lead over second-place Baylor. The Cowgirls are 25 strokes back and the Sooners trail the Longhorns by 31 strokes heading into Tuesday’s final round.
Agathe Laisne of Texas leads the individual standings with a two-day score of 143, one-under-par. OU’s Libby Winans is tied for third at 149 while OSU’s Lianna Bailey is tied for fifth at 150. The Cowgirls’ Michelle Forsland and Han-Hsuan Yu are tied for 10th at 151.
Romero drafted by USSSA Pride
Oklahoma senior third baseman Sydney Romero was selected third overall in the National Pro Fastpitch draft Monday night.
Romero was picked by the USSSA Pride, who have several Sooners on their roster: Shelby and Nicole Pendley, Keilani Ricketts, Paige Parker and Lauren Chamberlain.
Sydney Romero’s sister, Sierra Romero, is also on the team.
