The Putnam City Schools Foundation is hosting Friday a Wall of Fame Celebration honoring Oklahoma City and filmmaker Mike Mitchell.

A 1988 graduate of Putnam City North High School, Mitchell has directed live-action films like "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo," "Surviving Christmas" and "Sky High."

Over the past decade, Mitchell has focused on making animated films, directing "Shrek Forever After," "Trolls" and, most recently, "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part." He has worked with many of the top voiceover talents in the industry and has been a voice actor himself.

Mitchell has credited his artistic beginnings at Putnam City as essential to his career success, according to a news release.

The foundation's 2019 Wall of Fame celebration honoring Mitchell is set for 6:15 p.m. Friday at the OKC Farmers Public Market, 311 S Klein Ave. deadCenter Film Executive Director Lance McDaniel will serve as master of ceremonies.
