Oklahoma City police on Saturday identified two victims killed in a wreck that happened shortly after a police pursuit in southwest Oklahoma City Friday afternoon.

Tonya Horn, 43, and her daughter, Rylee Ewald, 8, died after the sport utility vehicle they were in was hit by a man driving a stolen pickup and fleeing from police, officials said.

About 5:40 p.m. Friday, officers attempted to stop a pickup, driven by Andrew Munoz, 27, for a traffic violation near SW 40 and Villa Avenue. Munoz reportedly slowed the pickup as if he were going to stop but then quickly accelerated.

Munoz traveled south in the pickup along Villa Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign at SW 44 and Villa Avenue and struck the SUV Horn and Ewald were in.

Police said the pursuit only lasted about 20 seconds.

A third person in the SUV, whose name has not been released, was taken to OU Medical Center in serious condition.

Munoz and Deanna Alvarez, 35, a passenger in the pickup, were both taken to a local hospital after the wreck. Alvarez was treated for her injuries and later released, but Munoz remained hospitalized Saturday.

Alvarez was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma county jail on complaints of murder, drug trafficking, possession of drug proceeds and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.

Officials said Munoz will be booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a number of complaints, including murder, trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
