Iowa Cubs rout OKC Dodgers 11-1
The Iowa Cubs scored five runs in the fourth inning, and cruised to an 11-1 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Saturday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The victory gave Iowa (10-6) a 2-0 lead in the four-game series.
Oklahoma City starter Rob Zastryzny struggled on the mound and was charged with the loss. Zastryzny (0-1) allowed eight runs — five earned — and six hits over 5 1/3 frames.
Iowa's Ryan Williams earned the win, and improved to 2-0 on the year. The right-hander gave up one hit and one run in 1 1/3 innings of relief work.
The Dodgers (6-10) had just four hits on the night. Connor Joe drove in the team's lone run on a ground ball to second base.
Iowa's Johnny Field hit a solo home run in the first inning and finished with three RBIs. Trent Giambrone launched a three-run homer in the sixth.
