Usually, cleaning up behind Bevo requires a shovel, but brooms did the trick for the Oklahoma State baseball team over the weekend.

The Cowboys swept Texas in demoralizing fashion, with a pair of routs, and a walk-off win to cap it off Saturday.

The sweep shot OSU to the top of the Big 12 standings and into the top 25 at No. 16 on Monday.

Week record: 4-0

Overall record: 25-13 (10-5 Big 12)

The week ahead: Tuesday vs. Oral Roberts; Friday-Sunday at Texas Tech

Boom-Boom-Boone

Trevor Boone picked up the Big 12 Player of the Week honor after hitting three home runs in a game for the second time in as many weeks, and the third time in his career.

The Cowboys’ junior center fielder was 6-for-13 on the week with four home runs, eight RBI, six runs, four walks and a pair of stolen bases. He homered three times in OSU’s 15-0 win in Thursday’s opener, giving starting pitcher Jensen Elliott more support than he would need.

Elliott tossed a one-hit shutout, and Parker Scott followed it up with a strong seven-inning start in Friday’s 10-2 victory.

To finish the series in thrilling fashion, Andrew Navigato’s walk-off single ended an 11-10 Cowboy victory Saturday. He finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Hitting the road

Following Tuesday’s home game against ORU, the Cowboys will be leaving the comfort of Allie P. Reynolds Stadium for a while.

OSU won’t be back at home until May 16 to host Baylor. In between are a series at Texas Tech, a mid-week game at ORU, three at Oregon State, and the Bedlam series to be played with one game each in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Norman.
