Foundation seeks nominations for Oklahoma City Public Schools Wall of Fame


The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools is seeking to honor alumni whose lives added significantly to the city, state or nation.

The Wall of Fame Humanitarian Awards are open to anyone who attended an Oklahoma City Public Schools' elementary, middle or high school. Honorees should demonstrate outstanding contributions to a field, have worked to improve their communities and reflect positively on Oklahoma City Public Schools.

Nominations are due Tuesday. The nomination form is available at Two letters of recommendation also may be submitted.

Honorees will be inducted Nov. 18 during a banquet at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Oklahoma City.

Over the past 35 years, the Wall of Fame has honored 84 alumni.

The class of 2018 was composed of award-winning chef Rick Bayless; Legand L. Burge Jr., a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and founder and president of LLBurge & Associates LLC; and Faye Norton, who started her own business, Designer Hardware by Faye, in 1982.
