“The Wooten Woods Experience will be a once-in-a-life-time tour. I’m so happy and excited that Samson, Hartke, and Michael Kelly Guitars are involved. We’re excited to bring the best of the Center for Music and Nature to audiences across the U.S.,” says Wooten in a statement.
The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of Wooten’s Center for Music and Nature, a camp that provides students with a unique educational experience in music and naturalness away from daily distractions and media. At the Center for Music and Nature, classes are designed to be illuminating and relaxing while offering abundant opportunities for jamming, reflecting and sitting around the campfire. The Wooten Woods Experience tour will showcase the spirit of music, nature, community and creativity that the runs through the Center for Music and Nature.
Wooten is considered a true innovator on bass guitar, as well as a talented composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist and author. While garnering accolades with Grammy-winning supergroup Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, Wooten added a successful solo career to his credits, including the groundbreaking 1996 album "A Show of Hands." He also formed Bass Extremes with Steve Bailey, as well as SMV with Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller. Wooten is the only three-time winner of Bass Player magazine's "Bass Player of the Year" and was voted one of the "Top Ten Bassists of All Time" in Rolling Stone Magazine.
