U.S. Grant boys, girls finish first in ACAC track meet

As the track season winds down, U.S. Grant's boys and girls teams are garnering momentum.

The boys won the All City Athletic Conference track meet on Saturday with a team score of 154, besting second-place Northwest Classen's 118.5. The girls teams at U.S. Grant and Northwest Classen tied for first with scores of 114.

In the girls 400, Northwest Classen's Erica Nash bested U.S. Grant's Lillian Oceguera in 1:06.73. Centennial's Moun'Tae Edmundson Jr. won the boys 400 in 52.88, topping Star Spencer's Kyvionte Hill and Northwest Classen's Nicholas Pierson.

Northeast's Leslie James Jr. won the boys 100 and finished second in the 200. Southeast's Jonaysha Rhodes bested teammate Jasmine Simon in the girls 300 hurdles in 1:01.67. 

John Marshall's girls defeated Northwest Classen and Douglass in the 4x100. Harding Charter Prep's boys won the 4x800 in 8:47.38.

In distance events, Bella Trachtenberg of Classen SAS captured the girls 3,200 in 15:36.62. Harding Charter Prep's Nathan Veal won the boys 1,600 in 4:49.89, topping Northwest Classen's Issa Amef by a second.
