What will it take for Paul George to return to full health?

Paul George shot the ball Tuesday like it was December again, about two and a half months before he would injure his right shoulder, and then his left.

But the kinesiology tape crisscrossing both shoulders in the Thunder’s 118-115 loss at Portland still raised the question: What will it take to return George to full health?

George remained vague in his postgame interview when asked what his offseason plans were for his shoulder, after Portland knocked OKC out of the first round in five games.

“We’ll approach it, we’ll address it this summer,” George said. “Coming back next season healthy. That’s the plan, get as healthy as possible going into next year.”

George made 14 of his 20 shots Tuesday to lead the Thunder with 36 points. He recorded his second-best shooting percentage (70) of the season, topped only by his 8-of-10 performance on Dec.10 against Utah.

George sat out for a total of four games for right shoulder soreness and did not miss a game for his left shoulder injury.

George sustained the original right shoulder injury at Denver on Feb. 2. It sidelined him for the next three games. He re-aggravated the injury against Houston on April 9 and sat out the Thunder’s regular season finale at Milwaukee. When George returned for the postseason, he said he was pain-free.
