Watch: OKC band The Nghiems release lyric video for 'Lightspeed' ahead of Norman Music Festival show
The Nghiems, the Oklahoma City band fronted by brothers David and James Nghiem, have released a spacey lyric video for their trippy yet chill song “Lightspeed,” from their latest album “Soulmatic.”
Plus, the band's enigmatic koala mascot is zipping through the cosmos in the lyric video, and koalas are freaking adorable.
The band is one of about 300 acts on the lineup for the 12th Annual Norman Music Festival, set for Thursday through Saturday at several indoor and outdoor venues in downtown Norman. The festival annually features an array of Oklahoma, regional and national acts, and this year’s headliners include Beach Fossils, Black Milk with Nat Turner, The Garden, Mega Ran, Soccer Mommy, Night Beats, Omar Apollo and Oklahoma expatriates Skating Polly, an “ugly pop” sibling trio originally from Edmond and now based in Tacoma, Washington.
The Nghiems at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the historic Sooner Theatre, 101 E Main, as part of NMF.
