Sooners' Ben Powers picked by Baltimore Ravens

Oklahoma guard Ben Powers rounded out an outstanding offensive line draft for the Sooners going No. 123 overall to the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

Powers was a little-recruited lineman out of Wichita (Kansas) Mount Carmel, bypassing Division II opportunities to spend a year in junior college, where he quickly wound up on Oklahoma's radar.

He almost immediately became a starter at Oklahoma, starting 10 games in 2016 at left guard. Powers eventually played in 38 games for the Sooners, starting 35.

As a senior, he was a consensus All-American at offensive guard.

Powers is the fourth Oklahoma offensive lineman taken, joining Cody Ford (No. 38 overall to the Buffalo Bills), Bobby Evans (No. 97 overall to the Los Angeles Rams) and Dru Samia (No. 114 overall to the Minnesota Vikings).

Of the starters that were a part of the Sooners' Joe Moore Award-winning group last season, only Creed Humphrey was not drafted. Humphrey is ineligible to enter the draft until next year and is projected to be a first-round pick a year from now.

In Baltimore, Powers will join a large group of Sooners. Wide receiver Marquise Brown was the Ravens' first-round pick this season and tackle Orlando Brown, tight end Mark Andrews and safety Tony Jefferson are already on the Ravens' roster.
