Tishomingo resident and country music superstar Blake Shelton made an appearance today on the Daytime Emmy-nominated syndicated talk show "Pickler & Ben."

The show's hosts - country singer Kellie Pickler and media personality Ben Aaron - traveled to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where as previously reported, Shelton has been celebrating the opening of his newest Ole Red bar and restaurant.

The Ada native chatted about making musical discoveries on "The Voice," creating dubious memories under the influence of moonshine and having regrets over his deer tracks tattoo.

The hosts also presented Shelton with a few gifts, including a "bear farts" scented candle.

Fellow Oklahoma natives The Swon Brothers - Muskogee natives Zach and Colton Swon - also appeared on "Pickler & Ben" while in Gatlinburg, where they played at the new Ole Red. They recalled working with Shelton on "The Voice" and how he has become like a "big brother" since their time on the TV show. They also chatted a little about the struggles of working with your brother and their plans for recording new music.

As previously reported, Shelton is celebrating next month a music hall and events venue expansion of his original Ole Red, with The Doghouse at Ole Red Tishomingo.

The Doghouse at Ole Red Tishomingo’s weekly programming will include “Thursday Night Jams,” “Live in Concert” on Friday nights, the “Shindig,” weekly dance party on Saturday nights, and more to be announced throughout the year, according to a news release. The space will also be available for private events beginning in June.

In true Ole Red fashion, The Doghouse will celebrate its grand opening May 23-26 with a weekend of unforgettable entertainment, including performances by the Ada native, his pal and fellow country superstar Luke Bryan and “The Voice” finalist Red Marlow. For ticket information, click here
