Slowpitch softball tournaments are set to begin Monday at Shawnee’s The Ball Fields at FireLake.

Class 6A-4A kick off the action Monday, while Class 3A-A follow Tuesday. They were originally scheduled to begin last Tuesday, but poor weather postponed each tournament.

Here are some Oklahoma City-area players to watch:

Lainee Brown, Sr., Choctaw: The second-ranked Yellowjackets haven’t lost since April 1, winning 17 straight. The Wichita State signee is a big reason. She has been the anchor in the middle of the lineup along with teammates Avery Clark and Tiffany Paul.

Hope Madden, Jr., Washington: Washington has become homer happy, and Madden leads the charge. She has 45 along with 108 RBI. Teammate Brooke Logan has 42 homers and 100 RBI. In total, the Warriors have crushed 166 homers in 39 games. Four different players have more than 20.

Delanie Manning, Sr., Dale: Last season’s All-City Player of the Year remains the area’s premier power hitter for No. 1 Dale. She enters with 40 homers, 75 RBI and a .645 average. She’s also walked 36 times with teams opting not to risk giving up the longball.

Karli Petty, Sr., Southmoore: The Oklahoma State signee holds 12 single-season or career school records entering the tournament to go along with seven in fastpitch. She is batting .691 with 31 homers, 72 RBI and 71 runs scored.
