Edmond Santa Fe’s Josh Williams is moving into an administrative role, and that means he’s stepping down as the boys basketball coach.

Williams resigned from his coaching duties Monday, Edmond Public Schools athletic director Mike Nunley told The Oklahoman. Williams will become an assistant principal within the school district.

“The perfect example of teach and coach, both on the court and in the classroom,” Nunley said. “Very, very proud.”

Williams took over the program three years ago and led the Wolves to the Class 6A state tournament once in 2018. That season, they advance to the championship game and lost to Putnam North.

Before his time at Santa Fe, Williams was an assistant coach at Edmond Memorial.
