Mustang Public Schools to celebrate School Nurse Day
Band-Aids, shot records and fevers ... Oh my! School health professionals juggle a complex array of medical and social issues.
To recognize these efforts, Mustang Public Schools will celebrate all school health professionals on Wednesday for School Nurse Day. Mustang students, staff, alumni and parents are encouraged to share their favorite school nurse story on social media using #MPSNurseDay.
Mustang Public Schools employs eight full-time registered nurses with more than 50 years of nursing experience among them and nine nurse assistants that serve 15 school sites and more than 10,000 students.
National School Nurse Day was established in 1972 to recognize school nurses and foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. It is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurse Week.
