Sooners will play on Army campus
Oklahoma’s football game against Army in 2020 will be played in historic Michie Stadium at West Point, Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione said this week.
Michie Stadium opened in 1924 and sits on the Hudson River, about 55 miles north of New York City.
There were questions whether the game, scheduled for Sept. 26, 2020, would be played at the Black Knights’ campus stadium due to planned renovations.
The Black Knights have played games in New Jersey’s Meadowlands and at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
The Sooners last played at Michie Stadium in 1946, when Army beat Oklahoma 21-7 in front of a crowd that included then-president Harry Truman.
Oklahoma visited Army in 1961 but that game was played at Yankee Stadium.

Oklahoma gymnast Maggie Nichols became the third Sooner to earn the Honda Sport Award, it was announced Tuesday.
Nichols, the NCAA's vault and all-around champion as well as a part of the team championship last season, was a finalist for the third year.
She joins Keilani Ricketts (softball, 2012-13) and Kelly Garrison (gymnastics, 1987-88) as Oklahoma athletes receiving the honor, which is awarded by the Collegiate Women Sports Awards.
The Honda Sport Award honors the top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports. By winning her sport's award, Nichols is a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the 2019 Honda Cup, which will be presented June 24 in Los Angeles.
