OKC man being held on $501,000 bail for drugs
An Oklahoma City man is being held in lieu of $501,000 bail at the Oklahoma County jail after police reported finding drugs in his home.
Desilon Atkins, 36, is currently being held on complaints of drug trafficking and possession of drugs with intent to distribute. Police said Atkins was arrested for not having a state driver’s license during a traffic stop Tuesday.
Members of the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Santa Fe IMPACT Unit were granted a search warrant at Atkins’ home in the 1100 block of NE 5 Terrace and executed the warrant Tuesday afternoon. Officers breached the front door of the home and found nobody inside, according to a police report.
During a search of the home, officers found about 16 grams of cocaine, 49 grams of PCP, 90 ecstasy pills, a digital scale and sandwich baggies. Officers also reported finding a picture of Atkins and a woman, receipts with his name and a key taken from him during the traffic arrest fit the front door of the home, establishing Atkins as a resident of the home.
Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show Atkins has a lengthy record of drug-related offenses in Oklahoma County and that he previously served prison time in the state for drug trafficking.
