OU approves sale of alcohol at football games and other sporting events

The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents authorized the advertising and sale of alcoholic beverages at athletic events on Friday.

Alcoholic beverages will be sold at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium for the 2019-20 football season.

President James Gallogly said a "pilot project," which was established by the board back in October of 2018 and featured alcoholic beverages being sold at the 2019 OU Spring Game as well as at men's and women's basketball games at the Lloyd Noble Center and at baseball and softball facilities, was a success and has no negative incidents regarding the sale of alcohol have been seen.
