Heavy rainfall forces changes to baseball, tennis state tournaments

Heavy rainfall overnight has forced even more changes to the high school state tournaments in the Oklahoma City area.

The Oklahoma Secondary Activities Association announced several changes to baseball and tennis tournaments.

In baseball, the Class 4A tournament has been postponed until Tuesday at Edmond North. The quarterfinal game between Newcastle and Poteau will resume at 11 a.m. Both semifinal games will follow. The championship game is set for Wednesday, with details to be determined.

Class 2A’s championship game between Silo and Dale will be played at noon Monday at Shawnee High School.

Class 3A’s championship between Atoka and Marlow remains on track for a 12:05 p.m. first pitch at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Also, the boys tennis state tournament was pushed to a noon start at Oklahoma City Tennis Center. The plan remains to complete the tournament Saturday.
