Church will host Italian Festival

St. Philip Neri Catholic Church will host an Italian Festival from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 26 at the church, 1121 Felix Place.

The inaugural event is a celebration of the parish’s patron saint St. Philip Neri, an Italian priest. The festival will include food, along with wine and beer; live entertainment by Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra impersonators; cannolis and Italian cream cupcakes plus children's games. Special events include grape stomping, a half-beard contest and sailboat races for children. An all-you-can-eat pizza and pasta buffet will be available in an air-conditioned community space or attendees may enjoy an Italian sausage fresh off the grill. A part of the Montellano Event, center will be transformed into a VIP dining area, which will offer patrons 21 years or older a catered meal, wine and gifts. Pop-up shops also will be on hand offering handmade items crafted by artisans from all over the world. The sales of these items will benefit Catholic Relief Services and other local charities.All proceeds will benefit the church. General admission is $10 and VIP tickets are $75.

OKLAHOMA CITY

Summer arts camps offered

Arts in Action Inc. will host two youth arts camps from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 10-21 and July 1-12 at two local churches.

School-age vocal or instrumental music students will receive instruction from trained professionals and get an opportunity to meet and collaborate with other student artists. The camp session in June will be at First United Methodist Church of Oklahoma City, 131 NW 4. The July session will be at Quayle United Methodist Church, 5001 N Everest.

Cost for each session is $200.
