The Oklahoma Senate confirmed a slate of Gov. Kevin Stitt's appointments Wednesday, despite pushback from some lawmakers. The Senate confirmed Stitt's final four appointments to the state Board of Education, despite Democratic opposition to two of the appointees. The Senate approved the confirmations of Jennifer Monies, Estela Hernandez, Kurt Bollenbach and Brian Bobek.

They will join Stitt's other appointees, Bill Flanagan and Carlisha Williams Bradley, on the seven-member board chaired by state schools Superintendent Joy Hofmeister.

The Senate also confirmed Stitt's Budget Secretary Mike Mazzei, who was briefly caught between the state Senate and the governor's office in a budget disagreement. The dispute was later chalked up to a miscommunication and Mazzei received unanimous approval from the Senate Appropriations Committee.
