Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson landed his first quarterback recruit late Wednesday night, when four-star prospect Shane Illingworth of Norco, California, committed to the Cowboys.

Illingworth announced his decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Illingworth picked the Cowboys from a list of 11 offers, including Missouri, Washington State, Louisville, Arizona, Arizona State and Arkansas.

He is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 10 pro-style quarterback in the 2020 recruiting class.

As a junior last season, Illingworth threw for 2,739 yards with 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Though OSU isn't expected to be able to sign a full class for 2020, landing a quarterback to build depth was a high priority, and Gleeson narrowed his list quickly. OSU offered Illingworth in early May and secured him quickly.

According to GoPokes.com, Illingworth would be OSU's highest rated quarterback recruit since Bobby Reid.
