With the threat of severe weather looming over the weekend, organizers of a popular annual block party on the northeast side have rescheduled the event.

Hosted by Northeast OKC Renaissance, the oNe OKC street festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. June 8 at the intersection of NE 23 and Rhode Island Avenue.

“We apologize for any inconvenience that this rescheduling may cause you, your business or organization,” organizers said on social media. “The safety of our event attendees and vendors is always our top priority.”

The free block party features live music, yard games, bounce houses, food trucks, wellness booths, a community mural and more.

In addition to the food, fun and live entertainment, attendees will get the chance to meet with local developers and business owners in the area.

Community leaders in the northeast want the public’s input as development takes shape in the predominantly black area.
