Genealogy researchers to share tips, experiences

EDMOND — This month's meeting of the Edmond Genealogical Society has been changed to "The Genealogy Gals Research In Washington" and will include two avid genealogy researchers sharing tips and experiences.

Emily Hedinger and Cheryl Jones will be the featured speakers during the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 1351 E 33 St. They will offer insights gleaned from researching at the National Archives, the Library of Congress, the Daughters of the American Revolution Library and other areas of interest in Washington, D.C.

Jones is a retired nurse with over 35 years of genealogy research experience. Hedinger is also a devoted researcher and a member of several lineage and genealogical societies. Both women are members of OHCE Genealogy Group and serve on the board of the Oklahoma Genealogical Society.

Next month's meeting will be June 19 and feature Kristy Duarte, owner of Frame It in the Village. She will discuss techniques used in preserving and framing antique and fragile family photographs and how best to feature them.

Genealogical research assistance will be available at 5:30 p.m. before the meetings.
