The Navy Band Southwest will perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Devon Great Hall at the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive. The concert is free and open to the public.

Navy Band Southwest’s Wind Ensemble concerts include standard repertoire associated with military bands, as well as more contemporary, popular selections. These pieces range from patriotic favorites to the sounds of the big band era, to current pop and country tunes. Concertgoers will hear works from composers such as John Philip Sousa, Gustav Holst and John Williams.

More than a decade ago, the U.S. Navy created the Navy Week outreach program to allow the Navy to build and strengthen ties to various communities. During Navy Week, representatives of this service branch visit multiple cities, offering public programs to introduce themselves and their several components to the local population.
