The two-time reigning finals MVP has yet to return to on-court work while recovering from a strained right calf.
Big man DeMarcus Cousins might be healthy for Golden State's series opener against either Milwaukee or Toronto.
"Potentially," coach Steve Kerr said Thursday, "but it's up in the air."
The team re-evaluated both players Thursday and they are expected to be ready at some point during Golden State's fifth straight finals.
Rodman accused of slapping man at bar
Retired NBA player Dennis Rodman “open hand smacked” a fellow partier at a rooftop bar in Delray Beach on May 17, according to a police report.
Jeff Soulouque, of Miami, wants to press charges, according to the report. He said he suffered injuries on his face and to his eye from what he calls an unprovoked attack.
“I was like, ‘What is your problem?’ ” Soulouque told the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Thursday. “It was out of nowhere. He just hit me and I was blindsided and he started charging me.”
Rodman, who lives in Fort Lauderdale and played collegiately at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, has not been arrested or charged. His attorney, Lorne Berkeley of Miami, said on Thursday: “We deny that any incident occurred.”
Suns' center arrested for possession of marijuana
Phoenix Suns big man Richaun Holmes was arrested for misdemeanor possession of cannabis after a Miami-area traffic stop.
Twenty-five-year-old Holmes was arrested Tuesday night along with former Brooklyn Nets forward James Webb III after authorities say the found a recently used marijuana joint inside their vehicle.
Both men posted bond soon after being booked into a Miami jail.
