West River Trail access limited due to high water, erosion along North Canadian riverbank

High water in the North Canadian River has prompted the city of Oklahoma City to block access to sections of the West River Trail.

The 7.5-mile trail connects Lake Overholser on the west to the Oklahoma River Trails at SW 15 and Meridian.

Trail access was blocked at the Meridian Avenue trailhead, and at Crystal Lake, at Reno Avenue, and at the NW 10 Street trailhead.

Erosion along the riverbank had damaged or was threatening to damage the pavement. No timeline for repairs was set.
