Report: NBA teams in pursuit of Thunder assistants Bob Beyer, Mark Bryant
Thunder assistant coaches Bob Beyer and Mark Bryant have garnered interest this summer from other NBA teams, according to reports by the New York Times.
The Sacramento Kings, who hired former Lakers coach Luke Walton last month, are reportedly trying to bring Beyer onto their coaching staff. While Suns coach Monty Williams, who agreed to terms with Phoenix three weeks ago, is after Bryant. Williams and Bryant both served on Thunder coach Billy Donovan’s staff in 2015-16, Donovan’s first season at the helm.
The Thunder added Beyer to its coaching staff this season, hiring him away from Detroit, where he spent two seasons as an assistant and two as an associate head coach.
Bryant, who works primarily with the OKC's big men, has worked under all three Thunder head coaches in team history. Bryant joined the franchise in 2007, before it moved from Seattle to OKC.
