What information do we collect and how do we use it?
We may collect personal and other information about you when you use any of the Digital Services, as described below. You may also be asked to choose a user ID and password in order to take advantage of certain features the Digital Service may offer, including, but not limited to, newsletters, contests, forums, webcasts or other subscription-based services. For some features within our Digital Services, you may be able to log in using a third-party social media account rather than completing a separate registration. If you agree to provide us with optional profile information, this information will typically be collected through a registration form.
Please keep in mind that if you disclose Personal Information through comments to articles, message boards, social media sharing or posting, or other public on-line forums, this information may be collected and used by others accessing those Digital Services. OPUBCO does not monitor or collect information you disclose on any of our public forums nor does it accept any liability associated with your voluntary disclosure of such information.
Newsletters, Emails and Mobile Offers.
We may offer newsletters and/or other communications in order to share information with you about the Digital Services, about us and our related entities, about our advertisers, sponsors, or other business partners, or relating to topics we believe would be of interest to our readers. You may receive a newsletter either by registering for a particular newsletter, or in conjunction with a special feature or subscription for which you have registered using our Digital Services. Each of our Digital Services or newsletters may in some cases require separate registrations. You may cancel your email or other subscription by following the instructions provided by the Digital Service, in the designated area of the newsletters, offers or emails, or as specified in a communication. Some of our Digital Services include a preference menu or page where you can manage all of your email registrations for that Digital Service. You are responsible for all data and other wireless carrier fees associated with your use of our Digital Services.
Certain transactions within our Digital Services, such as purchasing a paid subscription for The Oklahoman (print and/or digital editions), or purchasing products in our online stores. Similarly, some of our Digital Services may enable you to buy tickets or make other purchases. For example, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, payment account information, security codes, other Personal Information that may be required to process your transaction, or that may be relevant depending on the purpose for which the Personal Information was provided.
We use purchase information in order to administer, manage and correspond with you about your purchase, and may also add your Personal Information to either of our databases in order to inform you of offers, events, or other information that may be of interest to you. We may also use this information to track, analyze and derive insights about customers, such as demographics and purchase history. Note that we may share your purchase information with the event hosts, sponsors, and certain third parties that provide services related to your purchase. We and these third parties may associate purchase information with other Personal Information held about you in order to personalize services and relevant offers.

This data helps us analyze how visitors arrive at our Digital Services, what type of content is most popular, what type of visitors are interested in particular kinds of content, advertising, and the like. We may receive additional information to the extent provided to us by the social media platform; typically your name, email, list of social media connections, and other material provided to us by the social media service. You can unsubscribe from all email newsletters or similar communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link in every email. In addition, you can choose to no longer receive emails or text messages from NewsOK.com by changing your settings under "Manage My Settings" or by sending an email to NewsOKTCS@opubco.com and requesting to no longer receive such emails or text messages.
How can I access or update my Personal Information?
You may access or update any Personal Information we hold about you by sending a letter or email using the contact information listed below. We will respond to reasonable requests for access or revision and will provide access to the extent required or allowed by law. However, we may decide not to grant access or make revisions where the burden or expense of providing access would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual's privacy in any given case, or when the rights of others would be violated by granting the access.

What security precautions do you take to protect my Personal Information?
We have implemented reasonable security measures to safeguard the Personal Information you provide us. However, please keep in mind that we cannot be liable for the actions of third parties to whom we may transfer your Personal Information in accordance with this Policy, or third parties to whom you directly provide your Personal Information (such as when you complete a purchase from a third party through links on our Digital Services).
